To down or not to down? That is the question.
We all already know of my slight obsession with Restoration Hardware. Do yourselves a favor and go into a store and sit on one of their cloud sofas. HAVE YOU EVER SAT ON SOMETHING MORE WONDERFUL? It is heaven right here on earth for sure. I will own one of these one day, and I will review it. I have read countless reviews on the quality of these sofas, but I do not own one...yet! In furnishing our new home, I am INSISTING on at least a partially down-filled sofa to try and emulate my dream sofa. The down filled cushions make for a luxurious sitting experience, even though there is a little bit more maintenance with fluffing.
I have found a couple that I am trying to choose between. Please comment if you have any experience with the sofas mentioned below. I would love some feedback to help me in my decision.

Restoration Hardware Sideboard or Buffet Lookalikes for Less!
I am a SUCKER for Restoration Hardware. I drool every. single. time. I enter the store. I don't know what it is exactly about that particular company, but I feel like their style embodies exactly the feel I want my home to have. If only I were dirty rich... if only. Since, unfortunately, I cannot always afford Restoration Hardware, and I know many other people are in my same boat, I have decided to find as many lookalikes as I can.
On the topic of sideboards- I did not even know that the thing that sat beside a dining table had a name other than a "buffet" (at least that is always what I called my Grandma Nell's that sat beside her dining table), until about 4 days ago. Apparently this cabinet that holds dishes is called a sideboard. I could now get lost in sideboards. There are so many ideas of how to decorate them and what to use them for. My favorite use for this will be storage of our fine china (rather than getting a china cabinet). I like the idea of setting things on top of this and having the ability to test my decorating skills a bit more.
Here are very similar sideboards at a variety of prices.

After the baby comes...
There are many moments where you feel like you have been waiting for something "your whole life." I might be a bit dramatic, but I feel like this is one of those monumental moments. Although not the MOST important moment, it is super exciting! Drumroll...we are BUYING A HOUSE!
So for us, first came love... then came marriage... then came a baby in the baby carriage... and now comes A HOUSE. Unbelievable!!! We both have been renting for years (like 13-14 years). Neither of us has ever owned a house, and at some point you start feeling like you are paying the mortgage for someone else (because we are ha). Neither of us has been in one place for more than 4 years, so the opportunity has not been right until now. We are almost at the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak, with both of our professional trainings, so we finally get to put some roots down and make it our home. I am so ready to share the journey of making this house ours. That is exactly what I plan to do with this blog. Follow along if you would like. I will post before and after photos, as well as decorating ideas and prices of anything I can.
